Nothing stops the popularity of White Night Wedding
White Night Wedding still holds the Nr 1 seat at the Icelandic Box office since its release on January 18th. In its second week it increased by 25% by popularity and 30% in regards to income. According to Mr. Breidfjord, at the distribution company Sena, this increase is rare for a movie after the premier weekend.
The film is loosely based on Anton Tsjekhov's stage play Ivanov and was filmed in the small West-Fjord island Flatey with an all-Icelandic cast and crew.
The film was produced with support from the Icelandic Film Centre. The Icelandic distribution is in the hands of Sena Film while the international distribution rights on the title are still to be announced.
